JOB DESCRIPTION
Hazard Work Controls
- Handle Contractor Orientation and inspect work equipment to ensure safety compliance.
- Develop and implement a Permit to Work (PTW) system for activities such as hot work, work at height, and confined space entry.
- Manage and maintain the contractor safety program to ensure contractors effectively control hazardous work activities.
EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Management
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the EHS management system based on ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Act as an internal auditor for the EHS internal audit program.
- Comply with and evaluate EHS legal, legislative, and local regulatory requirements.
- Assist with the implementation of ESSILOR LUXOTTICA EHS requirements, Global EHS Policy, and other related standards.
LOTOTO (Lockout/Tagout/Tryout) Program
- Support the implementation of the LOTOTO program on-site.
- Oversee contractor compliance with the LOTOTO program.
Fire Protection, Prevention, and Emergency Response
- Monitor and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure fire alarm systems, fire protection systems, and fire suppression systems are operational and undergo planned preventive maintenance (PM).
- Manage emergency response plans (ERP) and the Emergency Response Team (ERT), ensuring proper training and regular exercises, including fire and evacuation drills at least once a year.
- Ensure that a sufficient percentage of employees are trained in Basic Firefighting, meeting local regulatory requirements.
- Develop specific emergency response plans for hazards such as natural gas, hydrogen gas, and nitrogen gas, to ensure preparedness and safety.
Workplace Health & Safety (H&S) Observations
- Perform routine workplace tours to monitor safety conditions.
- Coordinate and conduct safety inspections of operational areas or shop floors, either independently or with area supervisors.
Other Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of safety programs for electrical systems, forklifts, hand lifts, hoists & cranes, and road safety.
- Undertake additional duties as required by superiors, within your competence.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Qualification as a Safety Officer at a professional level.
- At least 3-5 years of working experience in the related field.
Desirable/Preferable
- Skills in the PTW control process and onsite safety inspections (certification is an advantage).
- Experience in providing training in fire prevention, protection systems, and emergency response planning.
- Certification as an Internal Auditor for ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Contractor Management Control System: Certified training program specializing in hazardous work control.
- Experience with emergency response plans, practices, and drills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with all worker levels.
- Fluency in English.
- Proficient in MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
