Summary 

Seeking for a Procurement Buyer who will be responsible for procuring parts and assemblies to ensure the uninterrupted flow of production while maintaining Company goals related to quality, delivery, costs, and inventory levels.

Responsibilities

  • Managing assigned responsibilities to ensure cost, delivery and quality objectives are achieved.
  • Coordinating purchase order activities: create quote requests, and place Purchase Orders (PO).
  • Verifying information related to price, product quality, service, and delivery.
  • Resolving purchase order issues and conducting follow-up activities as necessary to finalize purchase order transactions.
  • Reacting to internal PO change suggestions and engaging with suppliers to meet internal needs. Conduct regular supplier reviews with all assigned suppliers.
  • Assisting suppliers with improvement plans when quality, delivery, or cost concerns are identified.
  • Developing and maintaining files of purchase orders, requisitions, bids/quotations received, contracts, etc., ensuring all records are in usable status and adhering to appropriate retention guidelines.
  • Establishing effective working relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal staff.
  • Aggressively seeking, recommending, and implementing cost savings based upon negotiation, new sources, substitutions, or improved systems.
  • Performing other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Read, understand, and effectively write in English.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and prioritize work.
  • Be able to operate a PC with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and experience with MRP/ERP Systems (preferably Infor Syteline).
  • Attention to detail.
