Job Title: Safety Officer (2-year contract)

We are looking for a Safety Officer who is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations on a solar project site. This role involves assessing risks, conducting safety training, and promoting a culture of safety among all workers and subcontractors. The Safety Officer will work closely with the project management team to ensure a safe working environment, complying with local, national, and international safety standards.

What You’ll Do

1. Safety Management:

• Develop and implement site-specific safety plans and procedures for the solar project.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on the project site to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Ensure that all safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided, maintained, and used correctly by all personnel on site.

1. Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

• Identify potential hazards and assess the risks associated with different activities on the solar project.
• Develop and implement measures to mitigate identified risks, ensuring that safety precautions are in place and followed.

1. Training and Awareness:

• Organize and conduct safety training sessions for workers, including new employee orientation, refresher courses, and specific training related to solar energy projects.
• Promote safety awareness among all project personnel, including subcontractors, through toolbox talks, safety meetings, and other initiatives.

1. Incident Management:

• Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near-misses on the project site to determine their causes and recommend preventive measures.
• Maintain accurate records of all incidents and safety-related activities, ensuring timely reporting to the management team and relevant authorities.

1. Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations and standards, including occupational health and safety laws.
• Liaise with government and regulatory bodies as required to maintain compliance.

1. Emergency Preparedness:

• Develop and maintain emergency response plans for the solar project, including procedures for fire, medical emergencies, and other potential incidents.
• Conduct regular emergency drills to ensure readiness and effectiveness of response plans.

1. Documentation and Reporting:

• Prepare and submit regular safety reports to the project management team, highlighting key safety issues, trends, and recommendations.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of safety inspections, audits, training sessions, and incidents.

What You’ll Need

1. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Certification in safety management (in Thailand industrial practice) is highly desirable.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety role, preferably in the construction or renewable energy sector.
4. Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards applicable to solar energy projects.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence others.
